Responsibilities
Maintain and monitor job cost accounting systems to ensure accurate job costing
Track all project-related costs including labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment, and overhead
Collaborate with project managers to prepare and review billing, schedule of values, forecasts, and variance reports
Perform monthly job cost reconciliations and prepare Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports
Ensure all costs are coded correctly and aligned with the project budget
Analyze cost trends and provide recommendations for cost control and process improvement
Produce billing, invoicing and supplier waivers as needed
Complete weekly certified payroll reporting
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and GAAP
Prepare financial reports and support audits as required
Provide support to the accounting department as required and backup for weekly payroll processing
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3+ years of experience in construction accounting or job cost accounting (electrical contracting preferred)
Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and construction billing practices
Familiarity with construction accounting software (Viewpoint/Spectrum preferred, GCPay, Procore, Textura, Trimble Pay or similar)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Preferred
Experience working for an electrical or mechanical contractor
Construction accounting certification (e.g., CCIFP) is a plus
Knowledge of prevailing wage compliance
