Performs basic respiratory care duties as directed by the medical staff and in accordance with the hospital's objectives, policies and procedures
The individual will have a preceptor identified prior to the start of each rotation for supervision of duties
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Students beginning the second year of their Respiratory Therapy education program are encouraged to apply for this paid internship
Successful completion of all first year clinical rotations for respiratory therapy program is required
Must be and remain in good standing within the respiratory therapy program
Currently enrolled in an entry or advanced level accredited Respiratory Therapy Education program is required
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire
Preferred
Clinical experience in hospital, home care or skilled nursing facility
Member of the American Association for Respiratory Care/state Society for Respiratory Care
High School diploma or equivalent
