Interdisciplinary (General Engineer/Operations Research Analyst)
The Missile Defense Agency is seeking an Interdisciplinary (General Engineer/Operations Research Analyst) to support the Department of Defense's Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The role involves serving as a senior Ground Test baseline test engineer, leading scenario design development, and providing technical support in modernizing software tools with innovative technologies.

Responsibilities
Serves as a senior Ground Test baseline test engineer in support of a comprehensive Missile Defense System (MDS) test program to characterize missile defense capabilities and support fielding of an integrated and effective capability to the Warfighter
Lead the detailed scenario design development for all ground test events in support of data collection opportunities necessary for requirements verification and performance assessment
Provide technical and managerial support in modernizing Missile Defense Agency (MDA) software tools using the latest innovative technologies in industry including implementation of Artificial Intelligence
Lead Agile software development (delivering of software in small, functional increments) in planning forums and collaborate with internal MDA stakeholders and customers to define current and future Director for Test software projects
Lead Scenario Design software modernization efforts and ensure agency needs are defined, efficient workflows created and realistic delivery schedules developed
Support Test Management System (TMS) Ground Test product owner to ensure Ground Test requirements are incorporated into the software
Manage and prioritize software infrastructure procurements that align with Director, Ground Test budget priorities

This is an acquisition position coded Practitioner in Test and Evaluation. Incumbent must obtain mandatory Back to Basics (BtB) certification within 60 months of entry into position
Incumbent must acquire 80 Continuous Learning Points every 24 months
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below: (Must meet 2 of the 4 specialized experiences.)
Assisting organization in management of missile defense engineering test programs of complex weapon systems
Consulting on missile defense weapon systems testing, sub-systems, and components
Advising on the integration of missile defense weapon systems
Reviewing test concepts, policies, and standards of missile defense system ground tests
Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics
Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering
Professional registration or licensure --Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico
Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico
Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A
Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance
Degree in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications
