Intelligence Analyst

NEOGOV is seeking an Intelligence Analyst to perform routine to moderately complex accounting analysis in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements. The role involves researching data, preparing financial reports, and monitoring expenditures and revenues for assigned divisions within the Police department.

Responsibilities

Performs routine accounting analysis according to generally accepted accounting principles
Maintains adherence to generally accepted accounting principles; ensures maintenance of proper audit trails and verification and reconciliation actions for all processed work
Performs accounts payable/receivable processing, recording and reconciliation tasks (billings, vendor payments, fee collections, cash receipts, revenues, P-card, expenditures and activity costs)
Prepares and submit various weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually financial and taxes reports timely and accurately
Reconciles bank statements and perform revenue, expenditure, asset and liability accounts analyses to ensure accurate financial records
Prepares the cash forecasts statement and provides recommendation
Monitors City-wide grants and reimbursements or Debt Service and payments, and assist with year-end accrual
Prepares supporting schedules, journal entries and reports for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
Assists in the compilation of all supporting documentation needed for FEMA and other grant reimbursements
Assists with the completion of citywide bi-weekly payroll processing and payroll reports
Participates in city cross-training initiatives to assist and train other city staff with day-to-day financial procedures and policies impacting accounting operations
Serves as backup for other members of the Finance Department
Performs additional duties as assigned

Required

Associate degree with emphasis in business or accounting coursework, plus three (3) years of fiscal experience, and proficiency in either accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, or financial reporting
Or Bachelor degree with emphasis in business or accounting coursework, plus one (1) year of fiscal experience, and proficiency in either accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, or financial reporting
A combination of education and experience may be accepted
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
A valid Florida Driver's License
