Responsibilities
Lead the tone and storytelling expression of the Edelman Financial Engines brand across all touchpoints
Partner with art directors to create integrated campaigns that drive brand relevance and performance
Develop ideas that simplify complex financial topics into clear, emotionally resonant stories
Mentor and coach writers, helping them elevate their craft and voice
Collaborate with brand strategy, content, and product teams to ensure a unified creative vision across every channel
Push the creative boundaries of what financial marketing can be — without losing clarity, humanity, or trust
Maintain a high standard of creative excellence across all written work, from conceptual campaigns to everyday content
Champion the role of writing and storytelling within the broader Edelman Financial Engines culture
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in brand storytelling and creative writing, ideally across both agency and in-house environments
5+ years leading and mentoring creative teams
A portfolio that demonstrates conceptual excellence, clarity of thought, and range of tone across mediums
Proven ability to turn strategy into story and insight into language that moves people
Deep familiarity with modern content and campaign ecosystems — from brand film to digital and social
Curiosity for how creativity, technology, and human behavior intersect — and how language can move between them
