Psychologist Clinician Investigator
The Veterans Health Administration is seeking a Psychologist Clinician Investigator who will devote a majority of their time to research responsibilities while also providing clinical services. The role includes direct psychological patient care and oversight of the Mental Illness, Research, Education and Clinical Center (MIRECC) research portfolio.

Responsibilities
Conduct research relevant to the mission of the MIRECC which has a focus on measurement based care and precision mental health care
Provides consultation to investigators on all regulatory oversite of the research portfolio and in particular clinical trials
Develops research projects consistent with the MIRECC mission
Participates as a therapist in clinical trials
Participates in the interpretation of research date and participates in the development of manuscripts and other dissemination activities
Provides a full range of psychodiagnostic services including assessment and uses the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care
Performs evaluations for patients with a variety of psychological and neuropsychological disorders
Provides education to patients, family members and significant others
Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions including: individual, group, couple and family psychotherapy
Provides consultation to professional staff within CMC VAMC system and to community providers, concerning clinical assessment findings and appropriate treatment plans
Develops, implements, and documents the psychotherapeutic treatment plan for an assigned caseload of patients, including prompt completion of clinical reminders
Demonstrates sensitivity/openness to significance of diversity and cultural issues
Functions independently as a member of the CMC VAMC Medical Staff, with full clinical privileges. Assumes complete professional responsibility for his/her clinical assessment findings, patient care decisions, and documentation
Qualification
Required
Be a citizen of the United States
Have a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) at the time the program was completed
Have successfully completed a professional psychology internship training program that was accredited by APA or CPA at the time the program was completed
Hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia
Be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3j
At least two years of experience as a professional psychologist, with at least one year equivalent to the GS-12 grade level
Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of and ability to apply advanced professional psychological treatments to the full range of patient populations
Ability to provide professional advice and consultation in areas related to professional psychology and behavioral health
Knowledge of clinical research literature and fluency in scientific information discovery
Knowledge of and ability to apply structured scientific paradigms to research involving existing protocols and established scientific methods, including knowledge of research design and analysis as applied to their area of expertise
Ability to perform essential research tasks of scholarship and research execution, including research participant relations and management, research documentation, data acquisition and maintenance, human subjects protection, budget oversight, supervision of project staff, and collaboration
Ability to formulate results within a scientific framework and organize scientific reporting
Knowledge of methods and ability to increase the basic research skills of others via research mentoring
