Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Intern (Summer 2026)

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the EHS team to gather and analyze safety data, helping to develop safety metrics and reporting tools
Assist in the development of a plant safety training plan, preparation of safety training materials in Articulate software, procedures, and documentation to support the company’s safety culture initiatives
Participate in meetings and discussions with the EHS team to provide insights and recommendations and communicate to the plant EHS initiatives
Assist in the development of Machine Specific Lockout Tagout procedures for plant equipment
Develop contractor/vendor EHS educational materials and tracking mechanisms

Required

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field
Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer of 2026
Ability to work at least 10 weeks of the summer, 12 weeks is preferred, with flexible start and end dates
Strong research and data organization skills, with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment
Reliable transportation
Valid driver's license, auto insurance (at least state minimum- more might be required), acceptable driving record per Schreiber Foods discretion, and vehicle that will ensure applicant can meet the travel necessities of the position are required
Authorization to work in the country in which the role is based
