Responsibilities
Using best practices and good engineering, develops and applies approaches within regulatory, legal, and other specified parameters that optimize the use of assets in accordance with the asset management policy. (25%)
Analyzes asset condition data and formulates asset strategies and programs consistent with best practices to provide guidance to expenditure planning and prioritization (both maintenance and capital). Risks will also be considered in the analysis. Will recommend and develop programs and strategies including 10 year asset management replacement recommendations. (30%)
Interacts with subject matter experts on both technical and nontechnical issues to make sure asset management practices are effective, data is properly gathered and analyzed, applications are structured for optimum effectiveness, and risks are appropriately managed. (15%)
Works with others in the asset management group and other groups to gather, manipulate, analyze, and provide reporting of asset data. (20%)
Effectively communicates asset management plans and the strategies and policies that guided the creation of the plans to internal stakeholders. May be required to also present and advocate for the plans externally (10%)
Financial Responsibility:
+ Develop Budget: develop projects in the tens of millions of dollars
+ Approximate Budget Responsibility: May oversee projects in excess of one half million dollars
