Responsibilities
Lead the design and execution of Brex’s procurement strategy to deliver cost savings, efficiency, and scalability
Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships that optimize value, mitigate risk, and support long-term business goals
Drive process improvements in procurement approvals to increase speed, transparency, and compliance across the company
Partner with Finance, Legal, Security, and functional leaders to align procurement with budget, compliance, and strategic priorities
Implement tools, systems, and reporting that provide visibility into spend, trends, and ROI for leadership and stakeholders
Guide company-wide budget management and the annual operating plan by ensuring procurement decisions are data-driven and aligned with financial targets
Foster a culture of accountability and operational excellence by championing best practices in sourcing and vendor management
Qualification
Required
10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, including leadership of a procurement function
Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings, contract improvements, and process efficiencies at scale
Strong knowledge of procurement systems, contract negotiation, vendor management, and spend analytics
Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build trust across Finance, Legal, Security, and business teams
Strategic thinker with the ability to connect procurement decisions to broader financial and business outcomes
Excellent communication, presentation, and change management skills to drive alignment and adoption of procurement best practices
High level of integrity, judgment, and commitment to operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Preferred
Experience building a procurement function from the ground up in a fast-growing technology company
Familiarity with SaaS, fintech, or technology procurement and vendor ecosystems
Expertise in implementing procurement tools, automation, or spend management systems
Background in global procurement, including international vendors and compliance considerations
Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) that demonstrate advanced procurement expertise
