Quality Technician

The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that all incoming and in-process materials conform to specifications through inspection, managing the Material Review Board activities, and overseeing calibration systems to support quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Perform inspection and verification of incoming and in-process materials to ensure compliance with Mach Industries’ drawings and specifications
Manage the Material Review Board (MRB) process, including data entry, reporting, tracking, and coordination of logistics related to material disposition
Administer the calibration system by ensuring all measuring and test equipment are current with calibration schedules and meet usage requirements
Collaborate with Quality Engineering to generate and maintain quality performance reports, including charts, graphs, and metrics that drive product quality improvements
Conduct in-process inspections of Mach-manufactured components and assemblies
Identify and control nonconforming materials, ensuring they are properly dispositioned, tracked, and reported through the MRB process
Support root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for day-to-day quality issues
Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting to determine underlying causes of defects or process deviations
Provide timely and accurate data input and output to support continuous quality improvement initiatives
Coordinate calibration activities with external vendors to ensure all test and measurement equipment are calibrated and compliant before use on the production floor
Provide mechanical measurement support to help identify and resolve potential material quality concerns during production

Required

3–5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing quality control or quality assurance role
Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams including supervisors, operators, and manufacturing engineers
Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, including basic GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) for reporting, documentation, and data analysis
Demonstrated professionalism and ability to build productive working relationships across all levels of the organization

Preferred

Certifications & Standards: IPC-610, IPC-620, AS9100, ISO 9001
Industry Background: Aerospace, Defense, or Automotive
Methods & Tools: Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, SPC, Gage R&R
