Contract & Supplier Management Category Specialist

Responsibilities

Supports the facilitation and coordination of C&SM Program policies and processes in the review and approval of supplier contracts and procurement requests using independent judgement
Proactively identify expiration timeframes, notify business owner and/or vendor in advance to help coordinate appropriate course of action
Performs supplier due diligence and oversight activities to include review of financial performance, reports over internal controls (Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE's), compliance reports, etc.)
Researches market prices, trends, developments, and procurement method improvements as applicable and advises the C&SM Team of findings
Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, product availability, and management. Negotiates prices and delivery terms with guidance from a C&SM leader
Collaborate with SWBC businesses in securing and analyzing quotations. Negotiates prices and terms with suppliers and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness
Assist category stakeholders on purchase order (PO) creation and working with Accounts Payable on related activities for verifying invoices against POs
Partners with Legal to maintain and administer supplier agreements and changes/addendums
Serves as point of contact for supplier performance issues such as delivery, responsiveness, cost, and quality
Uses independent judgement to recommend and coordinate corrective actions on such issues and supports the business unit in the management of the corrective actions
Supports business units in managing supplier relationships on an on-going basis to ensure adequate contracts and processes are in place to meet performance and regulatory requirements and coordinates as needed with appropriate business units
Serves as point of contact for C&SM Program policies & procedures
Supports the supplier and contract management system and performs root cause analysis on system issues
Identifies and recommends efficiencies associated with the C&SM Program
Administrator in the management of the Supplier and Contract repository
Performs all other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent experience required
Minimum of two (2) years of purchasing, contract management, procurement, contracts, vendor risk, customer service operations, supply chain, or sourcing required
Ability to acquire an accredited industry-related certification while occupying position
Working knowledge of business processes, applicable laws and regulations, business laws, and contract language
Working knowledge of negotiation tools and tactics, and familiarity of supplier/contracts management and procurement/spend systems
Developing knowledge of third-party risk/supplier management, reporting, and technical writing
Working knowledge of procurement/expense processes and contracting
Basic knowledge of customer service operations, supply chain, and sourcing
Working knowledge of the financial services market, economy, and industry trends
Strong consulting and client engagement skills, interpersonal and presentation skills, and verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with demonstrated organizational and multitasking skills
Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Able to read boilerplate contract and understand context
Able to collect and analyze data, manage priorities and deadlines, and organize and prioritize work
Able to operate basic office equipment, including copy machine, personal computer, and fax
Able to adapt to working environment
Able to type 60 WPM
Able to travel locally or nationally by car or plane
Able to sit for long periods of time performing sedentary activities
Able to stand, stoop, and kneel to file for long periods of time

Preferred

Certification in Procurement, Contracting, or Risk preferred
