Responsibilities

Ensure high equipment availability and optimize system performance
Use preventive and predictive maintenance processes
Rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and quickly restore equipment to service
Work with other Target engineers and operational partners to optimize performance and flow of material handling equipment
Lead building automation, continuous improvement, and new installation initiatives
Serve as an escalated support resource during downtime events
Proactively monitor the overall health of the building’s material handling equipment
Maintain expertise around all electrical, mechanical and control system communication aspects of Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
Use diagnostic software and tools to collect and analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements
Conduct technical interviews for internal and external technician candidates
Evaluate technical skills and abilities, and train and coach internal technicians
Support training plan development and progress follow up
Maintain thorough knowledge and facilitate site training on appropriate safety procedures and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards
Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, train, and coach across various resources and scenarios

Required

Two or four-year Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering or equivalent degree / experience
Available to work all days and shifts (24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation, including holidays)
Industrial electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems
Experience with installing and maintaining many types of software and hardware
Strong organization and problem solving skills with a drive for results and the ability to handle multiple tasks and teams
Extensive experience in Automated conveyor systems and controls
Extensive experience in Work order management
Extensive experience in Preventive/predictive maintenance procedures
Extensive experience in Blueprint and schematic reading
Extensive experience in Industrial Electrical
Extensive experience in HMI interfaces and programming
Extensive experience in Industrial Controls
Extensive experience in Industrial Electronics
Extensive experience in Programmable Logic Control (PLC) programs
Extensive experience in Server based controls
Extensive experience in National Electrical Code (NEC)
