Responsibilities

A solid ongoing research program with a demonstrated publication record in the area of data science

The ability to mentor post-doctoral research scholars, direct MS theses, and participate in interdisciplinary Ph.D. programs

Effective communication skills

Commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses

Contribute to core courses and potentially expand elective offerings in data science

Preference will be given to those candidates with post-doctoral experience, outstanding publications, successful grant writing experience, overlapping interests with the current departmental strengths, commitment to collaborative/interdisciplinary efforts, and experience working with a broad range of students

Required

Ph.D. in Data Science/Statistics/Applied Mathematics/Mathematics or other closely related fields

Strong publication record in data science research and an ongoing scholarly program

Evidence of teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate data science courses and effective classroom instruction

Ability to direct MS thesis committees and participate in interdisciplinary Ph.D. committees

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Preferred

Strong record of publications and a well-defined research agenda in data science, including areas such as Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, High-Dimensional Data Analysis, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Neuromorphic Computing, and Statistical Modeling

Demonstrated breadth and depth of knowledge across core areas of data science

Experience with successful grant writing

Collaborative ability with colleagues and evidence of interdisciplinary work
