Responsibilities

Partner with process and manufacturing engineers to design, implement, and scale automation solutions for unique manufacturing processes
Define and drive requirements for automation in new equipment builds, ensuring seamless integration with manufacturing systems
Lead commissioning and qualification of automated systems in a fast-paced production environment
Develop automation strategies for material handling, in-line inspection, data collection, and error-proofing
Mentor and support engineers and technicians in troubleshooting and continuous improvement of automated equipment
Mentor, guide, and support technicians and junior process engineers on new manufacturing equipment and processes
Be a champion for safety while scaling initial process designs to full production volume

Required

7+ years of experience in manufacturing or automation engineering, ideally in pilot line, NPI, or scale-up environments
Demonstrated ability to design and implement automation solutions that improve safety, quality, and throughput
Hands-on experience with manufacturing automation systems that include complex components such as robotics, vision systems, sensors, and automated material handling
Familiarity with PLCs and HMIs for equipment integration (Rockwell, Siemens, or similar); ability to troubleshoot and collaborate with controls engineers
Proficiency with 3D CAD (Solidworks, CATIA, etc) and 2D CAD (AutoCAD)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data-driven methods to optimize automated systems
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a track record of cross-functional collaboration
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
