Engineer Intern - Environmental (Summer 2026)

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh Company, builds trucks that protect people and communities around the world. The Environmental Engineer Intern will support the Environmental and Sustainability Function, assisting engineers and operations with project assignments essential to the team's success.

Responsibilities

Work on special sustainability and environmental projects and initiatives
Assist the environmental team with
Involvement with various environmental compliance tasks and projects
Providing technical environmental sustainability and compliance services to operations
Providing technical assistance to management, employees, and others on matters regarding compliance, permitting, sustainability, and reporting
Researching, analyzing, and/or preparing information including but not limited to:
Permit applications
Governmental rules, regulations, codes, and standards
Air emission inventories
Environmental reports and disclosures
Assist in compiling and preparing Environmental Key Performance Metrics such as waste, recycling and energy
Review SDSs and update as needed in the SDS system and other environmental management systems

Required

Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or other related environmental field for entire duration of internship

Preferred

GPA of 3.0 or greater
Good oral and written communication skills
Experience in extracurricular activities outside academic requirements
Relevant coursework
