Wage & Hour Paralegal II

The Paralegal II will play a critical role in managing litigation related to Wage and Hour practices, ensuring compliance, and supporting attorneys with case management and trial preparation.

Responsibilities
Track and manage litigation calendars, deadlines, and court requirements, ensuring compliance with local rules, CRC, CCP, FRCP, and judicial standing orders
Coordinate with attorneys, clients, and internal teams to keep case files organized and up to date in Clio
Serve as the primary contact for clients in obtaining documents, managing files, and ensuring case records are complete
Conduct regular check-ins with case teams, prepare case summaries, and monitor compliance status
Draft, finalize, and submit mediation briefs and supporting exhibits
Coordinate informal discovery, review and redact documents, and prepare productions for opposing counsel and mediators
Provide day-of mediation support to the litigation team, supplying evidence or documentation as needed
Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and other filings
Review and manage formal discovery productions, including redactions, Bates labeling, and privilege logs
Assist in deposition preparation, including exhibit organization and day-of support
Create and maintain trial binders, pleadings files, discovery sets, and exhibit lists
Support attorneys before and during trial with documentation and logistics
Provide training and guidance to Paralegal I and Case Assistants
Review work product for quality and compliance with department standards
Attend practice group meetings, trainings, and contribute to non-billable firm initiatives
Maintain compliance with firm billing practices and complete required MCLE hours
Qualification
Required
Paralegal certificate required
Minimum 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in employment law
Strong understanding of California litigation procedures and federal court rules
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software
Excellent legal writing, research, and proofreading skills
Ability to work independently and exercise discretion in client and case management
Preferred
ABA-approved paralegal program
Bachelor's degree or higher
