Responsibilities

Negotiate and draft talent agreements

Negotiate and draft development and production agreements

Collaborate with and advise internal clients on deal strategy, contract terms, rights, and risk management

Manage deal flow and process and answer questions from programming execs and colleagues

Contribute to refining templates, workflows, and best practices within the Legal & Business Affairs –NY Content Group

Qualification

J.D. from accredited law schoolNegotiating talent agreementsDrafting development agreementsExperience in unscripted televisionManaging multiple projectsInterpersonal skillsCollaborative problem-solvingLeadership skillsStrategic thinkingCommunication skills

Required

J.D. from an accredited law school and State Bar admission or in-house counsel eligibility

A minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience, including significant experience negotiating and drafting agreements for unscripted television programming

Experience handling deals for on-air talent, executive producers, showrunners, and consultants

Expertise in handling business and legal issues related to television development and production

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and sound judgment

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across L&BA, creative, production, and business teams

Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and collaborative problem-solving skills

Preferred

Prior in-house experience at a television network, studio, or major production company strongly preferred
