Family Law Staff Attorney
National Legal Aid & Defender Association is seeking a Family Law Staff Attorney to join their team that integrates family law and immigration services. The role focuses on representing domestic violence survivors, providing legal guidance and support through various legal processes.

Responsibilities
Advise and represent survivors of domestic violence in related civil proceedings
Provide legal representation to clients consistent with CCLS program priorities
Identify and analyze systemic issues through individual casework, reviews of the CCLS data, and participation in statewide networks of legal services advocates
Co-Counsel with other legal staff and pro bono partners
Collaborate with other legal staff, client groups, community-based service providers, and statewide networks
Participate in community outreach and education events
Attend national or regional trainings as deemed necessary and/or helpful to CCLS, and provide training on lessons learned to other CCLS staff
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
J.D. degree from an accredited law school
Active membership in the California State Bar
Experience in family law and/or domestic violence advocacy
Strong legal research and writing skills
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to social justice and serving low-income communities
Preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish or another language
Experience with immigration law
Familiarity with community-based services and resources
