Clean Harbors is seeking an Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Intern to join our El Dorado, AR team for Summer 2026. The intern will gain hands-on experience working alongside I&E Technicians on instrumentation checks, calibrations, PLC Ladder Logic, control circuitry diagnostics, and electrical maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
Assist in troubleshooting instruments and control system malfunctions
Shadow technicians performing preventative maintenance checks, calibrations, and inspections
Support work on cabling, power distribution systems, switchgear, and motor control centers
Gain exposure to substation equipment and medium voltage electrical systems
Maintain accurate records and logs as required
Verify and update P&IDs, schematics, and technical documentation

Required

Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a two-year I&E program or Electrical Engineering degree program
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, both written and verbally
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, stoop, bend, stand for prolonged periods, and work at heights
Comfortable working in various weather conditions

Preferred

Knowledge of P&IDs and electrical schematics
