Manager, Strategy & Special Projects
Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization focused on saving lives and reducing disease burden in low- and middle-income countries. The Manager of Strategy & Special Projects will work closely with senior leadership to operationalize CHAI’s five-year strategy, support program development, and secure sustainable funding for impactful health initiatives.

Responsibilities
Work with the Senior Director and members of the Strategy and Special Projects team to develop recommendations and implementation plans to operationalize CHAI’s five-year strategy, including near-term strategic and operational improvements, and present these to the CEO and other senior leadership
Execute strategies to enable senior leadership to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, such as donors, partners, and board members, to advance CHAI’s mission and initiatives
Develop hypothesis-driven perspectives and build models, forecasts, and scenario analyses to guide decision-making, risk management, and strategic planning
Structure rigorous quantitative and qualitative analyses that include collecting, analyzing, and presenting data to inform decision-making, and monitor progress against strategic objectives
Lead cross-functional, high-priority projects that advance CHAI’s strategic goals (programmatic and organizational), with minimal supervision
Build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders—including country directors, global program teams, and operations leaders—to resolve complex challenges and accelerate execution of strategic priorities
Identify emerging trends in global health and synthesize them into actionable insights to support CHAI leaders to build trusted relationships and proactively shape policy debates on critical issues
Apply strategic thinking to structure ambiguous challenges, guide collaborative problem-solving, and drive rapid, evidence-based solutions
Amplify CHAI’s programmatic impact and sectoral influence by developing communications and supporting targeted policy and advocacy strategies, lead strategic efforts related to CHAI’s policy, advocacy, and communications work
Scope potential new, high-impact program areas by conducting background research, developing quantitative impact models, and evaluating the funding landscape
Develop briefing notes, pitch decks, and proposals to secure catalytic funding for new and existing programs and initiatives
Produce high quality deliverables, including reports, presentations, and updates for internal and external audiences
Qualification
Required
5-10 years of work experience in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment (e.g., strategy consulting, investment banking, pharma)
Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis, with the ability to present and communicate findings to a variety of audiences and senior stakeholders
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
Experience independently leading complex, function-wide projects and initiative roll-out, including optimizing team efficiency through process analysis and mapping
Strong organizational capabilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proven experience in engaging and managing relationships with key stakeholders, including C-suite executives and globally dispersed teams
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Superb communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Preferred
Experience working remotely with a decentralized team
Experience developing proposals and pitches (e.g., in a fundraising or development function in the social impact space; in business development in consulting; raising capital in a startup)
Experience working in or supporting low- and middle-income countries
Professional fluency in other languages, such as French and Spanish
