Responsibilities
Conduct research in a combination of topics including theoretical and computational fluid-structure interactions, compressible multiphase flows, and related model and algorithm developments
Conduct research in theoretical and computational continuum dynamics including modeling and simulation of fluids and deforming solids over multiple length and time scales
Couple advanced models and numerical methods for materials dynamics at all velocities and with coupled physical processes, including large solid deformation, multiphase flows, chemical reactions, phase change, heat and mass transfer, and combustion
Qualification
Required
A strong background and demonstrated research experience in theoretical modeling and numerical computation of multiphase flows, compressible flows, fluid or solid deformations, or a related field of physics, mathematics, or engineering
Demonstrated programming experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
A Ph.D. in engineering, physics, or a related field completed within the last five years or soon to be completed
