Customer Service Controls Engineer I

Industrial Automation

Responsibilities

Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI programming
Knowledge of electrical hardware used for Industrial Machinery
Interpret electrical schematics and ability to redline
Setup and troubleshoot Local and Remote IO
Safety knowledge of Industrial Machinery
Understand servo and VFD functionality
Ability to integrate 3rd party equipment such as laser system, leak tester, camera
Ability to troubleshoot various electrical and controls problems independently
Attend Project Design reviews as scheduled by the CUS KAM or PM
Familiar with Industrial Networking
Familiar with electrical standards (NFPA 79, UL 508A, NEC, UL, …)
Knowledge of C# or other OOP Language a plus
Proficient in Microsoft suite: Excel, Power Point, Word
High Attention to detail
Support electrical and software design of machines upgrades/continuous improvement
Support creation of electrical BOM and IO list
Provide troubleshooting support to mechanical and electrical technicians
Machine debug (PLC/HMI) from start to final installation at customer site
Integrate 3rd party equipment
Perform verification of installed IO
Responsible for accurately and timely generation of the Controls Engineering documentation package assigned to each customer project
Support electrical design team for project designs or changes
Support Validation team to test validation package per customer’s specifications
Ability to Multi-task. Be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time, and be able to self manage time constraints
Support Customer Service personnel- Applications, Engineering, Sales, Customer support, and Parts
Key participant in the customer support phases as required to meet the functionality of the customer’s system within time and system availability constraints
Improve and Develop software tools and processes utilized by the Controls Group to increase productivity and effectiveness
Support Mikron Corporation Denver goals, values, and operating principles
Other duties as assigned by the CUS technical Supervisor or CUS Manager

Required

High School Diploma
Bachelor of Engineering degree, or 2 years of relevant working experience
Knowledge of industry accepted engineering practices
PLC and coding experience
Ability to work hands on, as a team player as well as independently as needed

Must be eligible to work in the United States
Must be able to travel as requested
Must be available to work overtime
May be required to work off shift hours and Holidays
Must have a valid state Driver license
Willing and able to travel 50-55% of the year with overtime of 25%, including travel with minimum notice
Must have personal credit card for expenses that may be incurred while traveling for company purposes
