Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence. They are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to manage and plan data storage solutions for a significant High Performance Computing program critical to national security.

Responsibilities

Understand file systems (XFS, Lustre/GPFS/SephFS, NFS, EXT4, etc.)
Understand performance testing of IOPS and have the ability to write/evaluate test plans to reflect a need (for example, x number of nodes with xMB write capability)
Have knowledge in various types of HW configurations (i.e. RAID (0-10), Grid RAID, Sharding, etc.)
Have familiarity with various storage networks (i.e. SAN, Ethernet, Infiniband, slinghsot, etc.)
Have knowledge in various types of storage, interfaces, tools, file systems (Flash/NAND (or other types) based SSD's, Form factors, RAID levels, Interfaces (M.2, SATA, PCIe NVMe, etc.)
Have familiarity with smart data
Be able to effectively monitor storage network, bus, and devices
Have familiarity with general CPU components/architecture (Cache, processor core(s), Integrated Memory/Storage Controllers)
Be familiar with the FIO or IOR benchmarking tools
Be familiar with Ansible playbooks
Be familiar with Lustre parallel file system

Required

Position requires active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. Polygraph must have been completed in the past 5 years
A High School Diploma or GED plus twenty-four (24) years of general systems engineering experience, OR A Bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus twenty (20) years of systems engineering experience, OR A Master's degree or PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eighteen (18) years of systems engineering experience
Must be proficient with Linux commands and OS file structure
Must have programming language experience. Python preferred, but other languages will be helpful – position requires basic scripting skills (bash and Python to support telemetry actions)
Must be familiar with FIO or IOR benchmarking tools
Must be familiar with Ansible playbooks
Must be familiar with Lustre parallel file system
