Responsibilities

Develop 3D mesh construction based on 3D scans and modeling

Design CAD designs for customized medical projects

Optimize 3D models for use in various technologies (VR/AR, web-based, mobile, print, etc.)

Design medical reconstructions for education

Structure design pipelines and steps of production for 2D & 3D assets to maximize efficiency based on unique project needs

Employ user experience (UX) design principles for end-user advanced control and ease of use

Construct animated assets with accurate biomechanical motions with the support and collaboration of subject matter experts

Design 3D animations to visually explain medical procedures

Develop 3D graphical animations for informational purposes

Consider composition, realism, texture, color, lighting, and timing

Compiles research for each project on how 3D technologies can best support health sciences education, reviews how similar tools are used at other institutions, and evaluates project scope and cost efficiency

Develop innovative solutions and/or technical tools for faculty and students on research project prototypes

Support faculty and student research and grant-funded projects through 3D tools, technologies, recommendations, and industry expertise

Review faculty and student manuscripts for accuracy on components related to 3D projects

Take part in authoring for publication and presenting at conferences for wider distribution of projects and how they enhance teaching and learning

Lead staff and faculty development sessions/workshops on topics related to: 3D scanning, 3D design, 3D printing, and other topics as related to role or as assigned

Organization and management of digital assets and archiving in a searchable format

Maintain records on intellectual property (IP) for purchased assets

Save back-up copies in organized digital files

Research and procure 3D printer supplies with fiscal responsibility, ensuring all purchases align with project needs and maintaining accurate inventory control

Contribute to quarterly reports to support overall CETL

Required

Minimum High school diploma or equivalent

2 years of related work experience required

Experience with 3D technologies applied to education

Experience with 3D software and 3D design

Experience with 3D printers and scanners

Experience with 3D animation and rendering process

Experience with 3D design techniques

Knowledge of creating visualization components to aid the teaching and learning process

Required Software: Content creation tools: Blender, Fusion 360, Meshmixer, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software

Required Software: 3D mesh acquisition/reconstruction, such as Flexscan, Artec Studio, Metashape, Photoscan, 3D Slicer, or similar software

Required Software: Microsoft Office Suite

Individuals must possess the creativity, knowledge, and ability to model, design, and create learning components using visualization tools

Experience doing research, presentations, and crafting reports for disseminated projects

Demonstrate a commitment to working in an organization that values and promotes humanism

Preferred

Preference will be given to Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of related work experience

Experience working in a health sciences educational setting

Experience interacting with students, faculty, and administration
