Responsibilities
Implement system models and investigate innovative algorithms in PHY/MAC cross-layer to mitigate the impact of dynamically changing and congested radio environments, and achieve robust performance
Discuss with product teams and come up with novel algorithms and procedures to satisfy the requirements of emerging applications in real life conditions with congested radio environments
Perform simulations to prove the efficiency of the designed algorithms, and validate them on emulation platforms
Work closely with SW engineers, HW digital designers, Product teams and architects to understand domain requirements and constraints, and align on the best solutions
Bring up, test and characterize the crafted algorithms on real silicon in lab, evaluate and assure interoperability performance with other APs and STAs
Come up with enhanced solutions based on the behavior and performance analysis of real silicon systems in practical setups or environments
Qualification
Required
BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
Strong individual technical contributor capacity that with at least 5 years experience in designing PHY/MAC cross-layer algorithms, signal processing, and wireless communication systems
Deep understanding of communication theory, information theory, and signal processing related algorithm design
Experience with system optimization in congested and dynamically changing radio environments through cross-layer designs with proven understanding of PHY systems and MAC protocols
Experience designing and developing the physical layer core algorithms for wireless communication systems such as MIMO / OFDM signal estimation and detection, channel estimation, equalization, coding theory, beam forming, timing recovery, frequency synchronization, automatic gain control
Experience implementing system models in MATLAB, Python and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation
Knowledge of existing wireless communication protocols: 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, 802.11ad/ay, 5G/LTE/WCDMA/GSM, and/or Bluetooth/BLE
Preferred
MSEE or PhD with a few years proven experience
Able to efficiently use lab equipments such as spectrum analyzer, signal generator, network traffic analyzer
Experience with ns-3, emulation systems, and virtual platforms
Knowledge of modem architecture
Hands-on experience with bringing up silicon, testing, debug and characterization in the lab over variations of setups from basic single link performance to practical setups with other devices and interference
Good written and verbal communication skills
