PLANNER AND ESTIMATOR (SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT)
The Fleet Readiness Center Southwest is seeking a Planner and Estimator (Sheet Metal Mechanic (Aircraft) to serve in their MRO Production Department. The role involves developing and coordinating aircraft sheet metal repair workload plans, reviewing procedures to improve efficiency, and ensuring quality standards are met during production.

Responsibilities
You will develop, implement and coordinate aircraft sheet metal repair workload plans, program schedules and configuration control of the aircraft reworked, repaired, modified or converted
You will review established procedures and recommend improved methods to reduce aircraft rework costs and out of service time
You will explain the more technical aspects of the work and may instruct, demonstrate or help with especially difficult or unusual tasks
You will review timeliness and status of work being accomplished to balance workloads and resources among work units and meet established deadlines
You will observe work in progress to ensure on time completion and verifies the quality going into the product and inspects work to ensure that standards for quality and quantity are met
You will prepare command correspondence, production and status reports for higher management and other commands and activities
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
You must take and pass a pre-employment physical examination
You will be required to obtain and maintain required certification and/or license as a condition of employment
This position may require travel from normal duty station and may include remote or isolated sites
You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
May be exposed to hazardous conditions or materials
