Responsibilities

Developing and implementing the operational plan, objectives, and strategies on key support processes (budget, logistics, facilities, procurement, workforce management, training, automated systems, and financial programs and services) for the organization
Directing and overseeing the execution of budget, logistics, procurement, and quality assurance programs
Providing technical advice and leadership for national Customs and Border Protection programs
Monitoring and evaluating the delivery of support services through the process of short- and long-term planning
Supervising a staff that provides a diverse range of mission support services

Experience: You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as advising and counseling executives on the theories, principles, and practices of managing key support processes within an organization, developing procedures and techniques and furnishing policy guidance to subordinates, formulating programs that balance conflicting needs, requirements, and priorities of an organization, adjusting work operations to meet priorities or changing programs or production requirement within available resources, making decisions and resolving problems involving interpretation of the law or unusual situations requiring interpretation and application of DHS policy
Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process
Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 11/13/2025
Background Investigation: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment
Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP
Probationary Period: All employees new to the federal government must serve a one year probationary period during the first year of his/her initial permanent federal appointment to determine fitness for continued employment
Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) Eligibles: If you have never worked for the federal government, you are not CTAP eligible
