They are seeking a Sandblaster responsible for preparing and cleaning metal surfaces using sandblasting equipment to ensure parts meet quality standards prior to further processing.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and maintain sandblasting equipment and blast booth
Prepare parts and materials for blasting, ensuring correct identification and handling
Perform sandblasting on various metal components to achieve specified surface finishes
Inspect parts before and after blasting to ensure proper cleaning and surface quality
Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the blast area and equipment
Monitor and replace blast media as required to maintain efficiency and quality
Communicate any equipment malfunctions, material defects, or process issues to supervision
Support when needed in the Fabrication department. Perform various metal assembly functions such as: riveting, drilling, countersinking, grinding, deburring, shearing, fabricating, etc
Utilize parts washers to clean and dry piece parts and small tubular assemblies
Other manufacturing responsibilities as assigned

Required

HS Diploma or GED required
Willing and able to follow both verbal and written work instructions with minimal supervision
Physically able to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs
Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move for extended periods
Manual dexterity for handling tools and small parts
Mechanical Aptitude – demonstrated examples (on the job or outside of work) showing competency to work with hands. Might include items such as body work skills, crate repair, general wrenching ability, construction work, etc
Manual Dexterity – Ability to perform a job that requires detailed handwork
Experience with Process Standards – Demonstrated ability to read, understand and execute to written instruction
Computer Skills – experience with entering and retrieving data from a computer
Applied Learning – Assimilates and applies new job-related information in a timely manner
Contributes to Team Success – Actively participates as a member of a team to move the team toward the completion of goals
Adaptability – demonstrated flexibility to move to the work; adjusts to changes in work structure, processes and requirements
Manages Work – Effectively manages one's time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently; utilizes down time to support completion of other necessary work
