Responsibilities

Produce a variety of parts from shop drawings to conform to specifications
Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
Operate brazing and soldering equipment
Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, and other metal straightening and bending machines
Participate in continuous improvement of processes
Cross train in other complementary skills to support production requirements
Observe all applicable safety requirements

Required

At least 6–12 months of experience reading, understanding, and interpreting blueprints and basic welding process specifications under supervision
Minimum 6 months of hands-on exposure to basic tool fabrication methods and standard shop processes, including measuring, cutting, and fitting parts to specification
3–6 months of experience using production tracking or inventory control systems to log work orders, time, and materials accurately
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted)

Preferred

Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, reworks process instructions, original equipment manufacturer manuals and MSDS labels
Completion of a welding apprenticeship program; or equivalent
Attainment of trade certification
Attainment of applicable welding ticket(s)
Well organized with attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to think outside the box when solving problems
