Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently operate the Sewer Washout Truck
Perform minor maintenance and servicing of the assigned equipment in accordance to existing safety programs, work standards, and procedures
Inspect and maintain the equipment's tire inflation, oil levels, leaks (oil, fuel, water, etc.), coolant in radiator, lights and signal devices, clear and clean windows, lamp lenses, mirrors, and functioning windshield wipers
May also be required to operate all equipment assigned to lower level Equipment Operators, as well as all equipment assigned to the level of Equipment Operator III, as assigned by the department
Perform related work as required
This position is also an essential, emergency duty status worker and may not be relieved of duty when the Parish President or his designee recommends a voluntary or mandatory evacuation of Jefferson Parish
Qualification
Required
Possession of a current Louisiana Class C (or higher) Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Acceptable driving record
Minimum age of 18 years
Verifiable, satisfactory work experience (or certifiable completion of an acceptable training course) in the operation of a Sewer Washout Truck
Copies of licenses and certificates awarded for completion of training should be submitted with application
Preferred
Possession of a valid Louisiana Class A or B Commercial Driver's License
