Responsibilities
Subject matter expertise of Fire Protection Systems
Responsible to meet all RTX policies and procedures, Federal, State and Local fire codes and building regulations
Provide technical support to management teammates and trades personnel
Provide system operations and response training to facilities and security personnel
Support and coordinate all fire, life safety systems regulatory requests and activities for local, state, federal and other regulatory agencies
Be involved in system evaluations and create recommendations to senior management based on schedule, cost, applicable codes and system research
Review fire protection drawings for compliance with NFPA, FM, and RTX/Raytheon directives
Provide team leadership based on your technical knowledge and ability to routinely develop cost effective solutions over a range of complex issues while ensuring solutions are innovative and consistent with organizational goals and objectives
Perform work with minimal direction and communicate well with team members, management, Security, EHSS, internal customers, bargaining unit, outside contractors and vendors
Liaison with local fire departments
Ability to work nights and weekends as required for operational needs and on-call response duties
Qualification
Required
At least 5 years' experience and field knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Alarm System Programming, Fire Alarm System Testing Requirements, and NFPA 72 installation knowledge and experience of one of the two following fire protection fields: Fire Sprinkler Systems (wet, dry, pre-action) or Specialty Suppression Systems (CO2, Halon, FM200, Novec, Inergen, Wet Chemical, Dry Chemical…)
This position typically requires a Bachelor's degree in EE, ME or related field a minimum 5 years' experience in leading building infrastructure, and maintenance projects and or an Advanced degree and 3 years of relevant experience or 9 years of relevant applicable work experience in lieu of a degree
At least 5 years' experience with and understanding of State of Massachusetts and National Building codes, NFPA codes and standards and FM design requirements
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred
Project Management experience
Prior experience in the development of new concepts, techniques and standards as well as experience in developing solutions to complex problems
Candidate shall have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be capable of communicating with customers both orally and in writing
Experience consulting with management on fire system maintenance and repair issues
Solid computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)
Working knowledge of electronic drawing systems (AutoCAD is used at this location)
