Responsibilities

Performs clerical and administrative duties in support of the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office
Retrieves and distributes mail; drafts routine correspondence; answers telephone; greets the public; provides information or refers inquiries to appropriate personnel
Performs counter duty, which includes issuing marriage licenses, processing concealed handgun permit applications, notary oaths, and filing military discharges; helps patrons with questions about public records housed in the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office

Required

High school graduate or equivalent
1 - 2 years of experience in varied clerical work
Ability to exercise independent judgment, initiative, and attention to detail

Ability to operate a variety of automated office machines including computers, typewriters, calculators, copiers, facsimile machines, etc
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Ability to perform sedentary work involving sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for periods of time
