Responsibilities

Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary. Assesses technical and or instrument problems, including quality control and abnormal findings, evaluate possible solutions and chooses an appropriate course of action to solve the problem

Operates all equipment/instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results. Reports and maintains record of patient test results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turn around times for routine testing and stats

Coordinates with other specialists, coordinators and supervisors to schedule and assess competence of staff

Teaches and/or trains new and established staff members and students in routine and specialized techniques used. Participates in competency assessment of staff

Bachelor's Degree in physical/life science/related

Licensed and Certified in either ASCP, AMT, AAB or equiv
