Project Manager, Fire Alarm

As a Project Manager - Fire Alarm, you will provide overall administrative and technical direction for large construction and fire alarm projects, ensuring adherence to design, budget, and schedule while coordinating communication among project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Oversee total construction and design effort (if applicable) to ensure projects are in accordance with design, National Electric Code, budget, and schedule
Extensive understanding and knowledge of various LV Systems such as fire alarm, life/safety, communications (2-way, ERRCS, etc.) and controls for the built environment
Expertise in the various systems and/or vendors used for fire & life/safety (e.g. Notifier, Siemens, Honeywell, Edwards, JCI, Potter, etc.)
Function as a liaison to coordinate communication between both internal and external members on the project including, but not limited to: General Contractors, Subcontractors, Superintendents, General Foremen and union officials
Authorize and/or approve all project staff transactions including choice of superintendent, general foremen, foremen, staff volume and wages
Provide directions to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions
Participate in estimating projects and writing bid proposals
Review and approve purchase requisitions, payment approvals, sending invoices, and change order requests
Assists in the implementation/interpretation of safety programs and ensures that all OSHA requirements are met
Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards, with specific emphasis on NFPA, NEC & Building Codes
Ensure that all company client and project policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to and interpret the policies
Ensure the maintenance of all official project documentation and logs
Provide directions to planning, scheduling and engineering functions
Maintain a thorough understanding of labor agreements and standards specific to projects

Required

BS in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or IBEW Apprentice Training Certificate or equivalent in job experience
Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
Outstanding interpersonal and team leadership skills
Knowledge of National Electrical Code/IBC and NFPA-72
Must possess a strong attention to detail and ensure maximum quality of work throughout the lifecycle of the project

Preferred

Experience with Accubid a plus
Experience with Bluebeam Revu a plus
