Anne Arundel County Hate Crimes Prevention Program Administrative Support Assistant I
NEOGOV is seeking a part-time, contractual Administrative Support Assistant I for the Anne Arundel County Hate Crimes Prevention Program. This role involves providing administrative support, engaging with constituents, and coordinating events to promote community involvement and awareness regarding hate crimes and discrimination.

Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive project coordination, including organizing files, tracking deadlines, and maintaining project documentation
Perform essential clerical duties such as filing, data entry, photocopying, and scanning
Support grant expense tracking activities
Deliver excellent customer service to all individuals contacting the County Executive's Office via email, phone, or text
Serve as the initial point of contact for constituent inquiries; respond to constituents within 48 hours and collaborate with staff to address and resolve complex issues
Provide accurate information regarding County services, policies, and procedures, and offer appropriate referrals and recommendations
Maintain awareness of challenges facing County residents regarding hate bias, discrimination, and the County Executive’s Office's positions on these issues
Coordinate and assist with planning and executing events and outreach activities designed to engage Anne Arundel County residents and visitors
Manage event logistics, including scheduling meetings, booking venues, and arranging catering
Assist with office events as needed, including those that may occur after regular work hours in the evenings or on weekends
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in office administration is a plus
Minimum of three (3) years of proven experience in an administrative or similar role
Must be available for flexible work hours, including potential evening and weekend hours
This position requires a thorough background check
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite (Docs, Word, Excel, Sheets, PowerPoint, Slides)
Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
