As an Associate Engineer on the Rail Water Resources team, you will assist with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for Class I Railroad projects, including plan production, technical report preparation, and permit acquisition.

Responsibilities

Provides small scale design elements for engineering projects using fundamental knowledge, standard techniques, and established methods for small to mid-sized projects

Performs basic plan production and receives instructions for necessary tasks

Develops and applies knowledge and experience working within design and modeling software

Assists with preparation of project documentation and schedules and performs design calculations within a limited scope

Gathers research, recommends solutions, and creates drafts of technical reports using prescribed methods

Gains experience with creating and maintaining project and client information within the firm’s project management system

Travel is required to job sites for field reconnaissance in all types of terrain and weather conditions

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

Minimum of 1 year water resource engineering experience

Must possess Engineer Intern certificate (EI)

Solid interpersonal, problem-solving, communication (verbal and written) and decision-making skills

Has advanced mathematical and analytical abilities

Has a valid driver's license and a good driving history

Preferred

Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS or other related hydrologic and hydraulic software
