Institutional Review Board Coordinator - Office of Research
Kennesaw State University is a large public institution in the United States looking to enhance its Human Research Protections Program. Education
Responsibilities
Develops knowledge of human subject¿s research regulations through professional development and mentoring
Reviews exempt studies as assigned by IRB office leadership
Assists with the administration of expedited study reviews under the direction of department leadership
Supports full board study reviews as directed leadership
Contributes to the IRB reliance process as assigned
Routes IRB inquiries to appropriate personnel, with limited responsibility for addressing researcher or customer questions
Provides administrative support, including document management and other office functions as needed
Assists with communications with researchers (e.g., courtesy notifications) and supports outreach activities as assigned
Participates in quality assessment and improvement initiatives under the guidance of leadership
Participates with post-approval monitoring program activities as directed
Participates in investigations of potential noncompliance with human subject¿s research regulations as assigned
Coordinates logistics and follow-up for IRB committee meetings as assigned
Supports the delivery of researcher training programs in alignment with leadership directives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
One (1) year of related experience
Able to interpret regulations, policies, and procedures related to human subject's research and other aspects of research compliance
Able to apply regulatory review criteria to incoming protocol applications
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time, meeting assigned deadlines
Knowledge of federal, state, local, and University regulations regarding human subject's research
Understanding of research ethics and compliance, as well as related terminology
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (e.g., Microsoft Office suite)
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
Preferred
Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education
