Research Leaders – Transmission & Distribution Infrastructure
EPRI is seeking engineers, scientists, subject matter experts, and other technical leaders to join the Transmission and Distribution research team. The role focuses on new technologies and innovative solutions that help shape the future of the power grid worldwide, working with utilities and grid professionals to identify research needs and execute projects.

Responsibilities
Join the Transmission and Distribution research team (T&D)
Focus on new technologies, innovative solutions, and technical investigations for the power grid
Work on high-voltage transmission, substations, medium-voltage distribution, and data analytics of power grid assets
Understand how new technologies can be deployed on the grid to create value
Conduct laboratory testing, data analytics, and field testing
Collaborate with more than 100 utilities and grid professionals worldwide to identify research needs and implement results
Qualification
Required
A degree in engineering or another related scientific field
Experience working in utility environments
Experience executing multiple complex projects simultaneously
A customer-focused mindset
Experience working around high voltage and in laboratories
Ability to develop research concepts to solve real-world problems
Experience in data science and analytical techniques
Ability to document and communicate technical topics, including technical reports and presentations
Preferred
Advanced degrees preferred
Expertise in one or more of the following topics: Line design, standards engineering, power electronics, cable systems, transformers, protection & control, arresters, insulators, distribution automation, conductor systems, structural design, vegetation management, wildfire management, resilience, wildlife interactions, HVDC, grid components, data science, applied analytics, or power system inspection
