Responsibilities

Managing structural engineers and leading discipline-specific tasks
Advancing and implementing state-of-the-art structural engineering practices, inclusive of advanced modelling/analysis/design tools, digital delivery, AI
Driving the development of innovative technical concepts to reduce construction cost, risk, and project duration
Advising clients on how to achieve their goals
Leading and winning pursuits for WSP
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Required

Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
12+ years of experience designing tunnels, retaining walls, bridges and related structures
Experienced in the design and analysis of reinforced concrete and structural steel
Proven success in: Project Management, Staff development and leadership, Development of deliverable packages, Project delivery, Technical innovation, Quality management, Inter-disciplinary coordination, Structural inspections, Construction support
Professional Engineer Registration in New York State, willing to obtain PE registration in other states
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements

Preferred

Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Direct experience with MTA (NYCT) and subway station framing
Experience with inspection and rehabilitation-design of underground structures
Familiarity with finite element and beam-spring modeling
Experience with construction cost estimating
Experience with alternative delivery methods
