Senior Ocean Engineer

Responsibilities
Ability to plan and direct offshore cable installation
Oversee deck operations required in the installation of cabled ocean sensors
Provide customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems
Check out and approves operational quality of system equipment
Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system
Serve as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects
Interpret customers' needs and clarifies if the responsibility for problem resolution falls to sales personnel, customer support reps, or engineers
Responsible for the design, layout, testing and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices or systems
Prepare design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval
Analyze mechanical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
Investigate solutions to product or process problems
Consolidates results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects
Conduct investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications or requirements
Perform product development activities including drawing board layout and interpretation/implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements
Ability to travel for extended periods (2-3 weeks)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
Ability to generate technical proposals and installation plans
Familiar with CAD program (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)
Experience in offshore construction
Familiarity with DOD contracts
Ability to obtain a US DOD Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship
