Responsibilities

Engineer mechanical design solutions for both spacecraft flight hardware and mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE)

Create designs with DFM/DFA with rate manufacturing in mind

Perform preliminary FEA, higher level hand calculations, and fastener margins to help ensure a feasible design

Create component drawings with appropriate GD&T, that can be affordably produced

Develop assembly drawings, fabrication procedures, and build instructions working with the integration team

Execute a time bound, well defined project which is of high value to York

Gain hands-on assembly and test experience

Interface with multiple engineering disciplines and project stakeholders

Required

Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited university studying Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field

Solidworks (or similar) CAD skills

Demonstrates self-initiated work in a team environment with strong leadership skills

Strong communicator, great team player and overall hard worker

Self-starter and self-motivated with a hunger to learn

An interest in full time employment at York Space Systems

Demonstrated interest in spacecraft and space systems

Ability to work fulltime in office

Preferred

Junior year level or higher in their bachelor's in engineering degree
