Kitchen Equipment Technician

Kemco Facilities Services is a family-owned business providing exceptional quality in commercial/industrial HVAC and kitchen equipment repairs. The Kitchen Equipment Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a variety of commercial kitchen appliances to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, fryers, and mixers
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and gas-related issues in kitchen appliances and systems
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and to prevent unexpected breakdowns
Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating with clients, explaining repair procedures, and offering solutions to minimize downtime
Ensure all repairs and maintenance are performed in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards
Maintain detailed records of all repairs, services, and parts used. Prepare and submit service reports and invoices promptly
Keep track of tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory. Order and replenish supplies as needed
Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices through continuous learning and training

Required

High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in repairing and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and gas systems
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record as outlined with our company policy
Must be able to pass a satisfactory background screening
Ability to lift heavy equipment, stand, bend, and work in confined spaces for extended periods
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and fix issues efficiently
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work independently or as part of a team
Dedicated to providing high-quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 to 75 pounds; frequently lift and or move up to 100 pounds with assistance and heavy lift equipment
Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and heights
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods and climb up and down ladders
Extensive daily travel to work site locations
Exposure to electrical, steam, and high heat units that require extreme caution and safety equipment

Preferred

Technical or vocational training in appliance repair, commercial kitchen equipment, or a related field
Relevant certifications such as EPA 608, CFESA (Commercial Food Equipment Service Association) certification, or equivalent
