Utility Mechanic Foreman (WTP)

Gloucester County's Public Utilities Department is seeking a Utility Mechanic Foreman to join their team. This role involves overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment in the water treatment and wastewater collection systems, while also coordinating procurement and ensuring adherence to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Supervises custodial and grounds-keeping duties at various Utility facilities
Coordinates with contractors and vendors. Coordinates the procurement of parts for inventory and project needs
Coordinates internal projects and ensures adherences to safety regulations
Operates hand tools, power tools and industry-specialized tools
Manages preventive maintenance of equipment
Coordinates training of reporting personnel
Maintains records and files related to installation, maintenance, repairs and replacement of equipment
Maintains a clean and organized inventory
Responds to after-hours calls on nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Possession of a high school diploma/GED
Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in mechanical and maintenance work to include repair, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of pumps, motors, control valves and control systems; and two (2) years of supervisory experience
Possession of a valid driver's license; possess and maintain a driving record that meets established Gloucester County Driving Standards
Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment physical. Position subject to subsequent physical examinations to ensure incumbent meets physical job requirements
Possession of OSHA 30 Hour Card (General Industry or Construction) or obtain within 12 months of employment in the position

Preferred

Experience in water and/or wastewater systems preferred
Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), preferred
