Responsibilities

Write and debug embedded software for ADAS functions in real-time environments
Conduct and support in-vehicle and bench testing, validation, and data collection
Triage complex field issues by analyzing logs, isolating fault domains, and reproducing issues on benches or vehicles
Analyze sensor and system data logs; perform root cause analysis and recommend improvements
Develop tools and dashboards to streamline log analysis, telemetry review, and trend detection
Contribute to system architecture discussions and requirements documentation
Collaborate with validation engineers, system architects, and global development teams to ensure high-quality ADAS validation
Document clear and actionable defect reports in Jira to accelerate bug-fix cycles
Ensure testing activities align with SHMA safety, compliance, and quality standards

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
4+ years of experience in development and/or validation within the automotive industry
3+ years of software development and/or validation experience on Linux platforms and/or embedded systems
Hands-on experience with autonomous driving (AD) or ADAS technologies
Familiarity with sensors such as cameras, radar, and lidar
Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and defect tracking workflows
Ability to work on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area at least 4 days a week

Preferred

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
Exposure to ADAS or autonomous vehicle validation environments
Experience with AWS, OpenTelemetry, or log aggregation pipelines
Knowledge of Robot Operating System (ROS) for software development
Background managing or contributing to large-scale systems development
Ability to communicate in both English and Japanese
