Responsibilities

Case management
Interview witnesses and interrogate suspects
Conducts surveillance
Conducts thorough investigations, subpoenas records, and any other items needed for case presentation to the ADA
Conduct interviews with complainants, victims, witnesses, and suspects to obtain relevant facts
Conduct follow-up investigations
Prepares detailed reports
Execute both arrest and search warrants, conduct surveillance, and assist local, state, and federal partners in conducting criminal investigations
File charges and testify in court
Assists other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in conducting criminal investigations
Performs other assignments and duties as required and/or necessary

Required

Must be an Honorably Retired Peace Officer
A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in law enforcement
Must have an active TCOLE Peace Officer License
Willing to accept, attend, and successfully complete additional training as required
Must present a professional image
Knowledge of Texas Penal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure, specifically Chapter 32
Proficient in the use of Superion, JWEB, CAD, DIMS, and JOTS computer systems
Proficient in the use of standard office software programs such as MS Word and Outlook
Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
Excellent organizational skills
Proficient report writing and communication skills
Ability to effectively manage a caseload
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment to meet strict deadlines
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Ability to work varying duty hours as may be needed
Ability to work with outside law enforcement agencies and HCDAO
