Director of Existing Building Services

They are seeking an experienced leader to oversee renovation and preventative maintenance projects for existing facilities, ensuring high-quality and profitable execution of commercial HVAC projects.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the service division, ensuring safe, timely, and profitable execution of commercial HVAC projects
Proven experience in business development and building relationships with owners, clients, and subcontractors
Monitor job budgets, labor productivity, procurement, and change orders to ensure fiscal responsibility and accurate forecasting across all active projects
Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract administration, and vendor management
Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously and work effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders
Negotiate contracts, subcontracts, scopes, and change orders with vendors, subcontractors, and partners
Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team including managers, field supervisors, and technical leads
Establish performance metrics, accountability, and career development plans
Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to regulatory and code compliance
Facilitate communication, progress updates, and change management
Resolve conflicts, anticipate risks, and proactively manage expectations
Oversee site audits, inspections, quality reviews, and corrective actions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience in commercial construction, HVAC management, or existing HVAC building services, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
Proven track record managing renovation, retrofit, and maintenance projects in existing buildings (i.e., HVAC, Mechanical systems)
Experience designing and enforcing safety, compliance, quality control, and commissioning procedures
Strong leadership, team building, and mentoring capabilities
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across sites
Deep knowledge of commercial building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, controls, and maintenance operations
