Responsibilities
Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population
Prescribes or administers pharmaceuticals, other medications, immunizations, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions
Provides health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention
Monitors patients' conditions and progress, re-evaluating treatments, and explains procedures and test results or prescribed treatments with patients
Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate
May manage the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function
Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required
Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards
As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Role models the principles of a Just Culture
Performs other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant
Qualification
Required
3 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty
Federal DEA certification; Medical Specialty license or certification; Board certified or Board eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty required
Ability to obtain and maintain medical staff office credentialing and privileges required
Completion of a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited institution is required
