Responsibilities
Participate in cross-functional project teams to transition clients from legacy systems and implement new fundraising platforms
Lead client sessions on data mapping and provide best-practice consulting to both technical resources and non-technical resources
Complete multiple test runs and final data conversions with accuracy and efficiency
Perform standard conversion tasks, including data mapping, scripting, and quality assurance
Guide discovery for project deliverables such as software configuration, custom development, and integrations
Analyze client needs and business processes to identify functional and technical requirements that align with their goals
Work with the project team to identify roadblocks and work through problems to help ensure project success
Intentionally cultivating a collaborative environment that encourages creative problem solving from all involved parties
Communicate progress, challenges, and solutions clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Perform individual work, managing time and tasks to complete technical work and maintain project deadlines
Qualification
Required
3–5 years of hands-on experience using SQL for data conversion, migration and transformation tasks, including dynamic SQL, and parameterized queries
Proven ability to create and optimize stored procedures, user-defined functions and views
Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or equivalent tools for development and debugging
Demonstrated proficiency in Excel
Experience with data management tools such as Salesforce or Blackbaud CRM with ETL, Salesforce Data Loader, or Jitterbit
Experience with data mapping and ETL development
Highly analytical, technically proficient, and quick to learn new software and tools
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
Flexibility in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results
Independent problem-solver with creativity and resourcefulness
Familiarity with nonprofit or higher education fundraising processes and data structures
Commitment to fostering an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging
Preferred
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
Knowledge and functional use of fundraising systems such as Advance, Ascend, Affinaquest, Banner, Blackbaud CRM or Raiser's Edge
Experience with data visualization tools
Prior consulting experience with nonprofit clients or in higher education
Experience with other data languages (Python, C++, SOQL)
