The Project Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of automotive system components, from initial product identification through to production launch, while also supporting existing product families.

Responsibilities
Designing and developing products for the automotive market
Researching and applying new design & manufacturing concepts
Self-educating on product related technologies to function as a subject matter expert
Completing Bill of Materials – detailed component & assembly drawings
Evaluating and approving components and final assemblies
Effective communication with outside vendors
Establishing product test specifications and validation requirements
Support development of cost studies and help prepare business case for tooling new products or product cost reduction efforts
Troubleshooting and resolving quality issues by working with production staff and applying statistical problem solving and quality principles
Handling other related functions as directed by supervisor
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
3+ years of related product development experience
Proficient in using SOLIDWORKS
Excellent oral/written communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent PC skills
Preferred
Knowledge of automotive sensors and actuators
Knowledge of DFMA
Knowledge of PCB design
Knowledge of stamping/injection molded part design
Knowledge of engineering plastics and other materials
