Assistant Professor of Finance
Penn State University is seeking to fill up to two tenure-line faculty positions at the Assistant Professor rank in the Department of Finance. The role involves conducting high-quality research, teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, mentoring PhD students, and contributing to the collegial atmosphere of the department.

Conduct high quality research that is published or publishable in top-tier academic journals
Effectively teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels
Serve as a research advisor and mentor to PhD students
Engage in service activities commensurate with their rank
Contribute to the collegial and intellectual atmosphere of the department
Onsite teaching is an essential function of this position
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field; ABD candidates should expect to complete their degree requirements by the time of the appointment
Evidence of a research agenda with potential for publications in top-tier finance and economics journals
Established record of scholarly research published in the top journals in finance (for experienced applicants)
Ability to effectively teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels
Ability to serve as a research advisor and mentor to PhD students
Engagement in service activities commensurate with their rank
Contribution to the collegial and intellectual atmosphere of the department
